The wind

The wind blew and the storm poofed, Sent a wave of dried leaves hurtling down the lane, The clouds were forced to shift, By the force of the mighty wind. The wind howled like a dragon, When it was angered by the living, Left the world in a state of devastation, Causing irreparable damage. It blew with the force of a million elephants, Tarnishing houses and blowing away roofs from above the head, Left stomachs empty with people looking for shelter, But what was done is done.

Nectar and poison

Your words, they stung, You left her broken into a thousand fragments, Her self confidence took a dive, Into an ocean of despair and regret. When her hard work was burnt by your talks, Of her being nothing more than a dummy, It hurt more than jagged rocks. And then, you term her as grumpy. When her value is not recognised, And she is pushed to fall down, You have hurt her more than thrice. Sometimes the pressure leaves her feeling ready to drown. This is all just poison. But if you talked to her politely, With a benign composure and good intentions at heart, With respect for her and her work, That wouldn't pierce like a dart. When her value is known, Her sacrifice appreciated, Her real potential is shown, And a new she created. When she is given a chance, A chance to rise to the occasion, Her happiness can be seen at a glance. Now,her life has become fun. This is what is life's nectar.

The Christmas Lights

It was a cold night yet was filled with the laughter of people.Street lights were not the only bright thing on the road.In fact, the whole town of Pillsbury was decked with fairy lights, wreaths,Christmas trees and ribbons.People went around buying cakes or doing the last minute shopping of gifts.During this hustle-bustle,nobody noticed a young girl of about twelve walking all alone on the road. She was not lost, neither did anybody care. She was dressed in dirty rags and her face was covered with soot. Her hair were all tangled up and wore no shoes.Even in the bitter, biting cold, she bore only a thin jacket and a single glove on her right hand. Her other hand was bare while her tattered jeans possessed a large hole on her right knee.Somebody had stolen her only pair of shoes leaving her to mourn over that alone. Now,seeing the happy, cheerful faces in the crowd made her even sadder.Oh!Why didn't she have no family? Why did she have to spend every Christmas with the stars and moon for comp

My French Guest

Friendship is an eternal bond between two friends which can never be broken. William Penn once said and I quote,"Death is but crossing the world,as friends do the seas;they live in one another still. For they must needs be present, that love and live in that which is omnipresent. In this divine glass they see face to face, and their converse is free as well as pure. This is the comfort of friends, that though they may be said to die,yet their friendship and society are in the best sense ever present, because immortal." unquote. Friends are said to have true magic within themselves. They can enlighten the life of a poor pauper, a boring businessman and even touch the souls of people who have forever lost hope. Or one might have a normal friend, one with whom they can loaf around with, joke and prank others. Two months ago, a group of fifteen delegates from Paris,France visited my school. Two teachers accompanied them. I hosted one of the students who visited my school. He

The Heroic Deed

“Granny, when will Maya and David come here ?” questioned Ajax. “Oh yes granny, I can’t wait. “ replied Ajax’s twin sister Samantha. “ They will come tomorrow. Be patient. “ replied their granny. During the summer vacations, Maya, David, Ajax and Samantha would visit their Granny every year. They were cousins. While Maya and Samantha were logical and intelligent, Ajax and David were clumsy and drove their mothers crazy. The next day, when Maya & David arrived, Ajax & Samantha rushed to greet their cousins. They all would spend hours together everyday and go for cycling adventures. On one such day, the four cousins took their bicycles and sped off to an old fort nearby. It was believed to be haunted as people said that they would hear strange noises coming from the fort late at night. Rushing off at maximum speed, the four cousins reached the fort quickly. Ajax got off and went towards the door of the fort. The fort was huge and had many windows. Moss covered the

Hence, he had met many types of people and also knew many languages. He was a loyal man but doubted everything he saw. Getting suspicious of the boy, Mr. Dubblin shook his head. One of the passengers sitting next to Mr. Dubblin took pity and offered the boy five rupees. Offended, the boy shouted, “ I’m no beggar !”.One passenger called the boy over and asked him to polish his shoes. Mahatma Gandhi

The father of our nation and a leader. A source of guidance and a famed lawyer of his time. Also known as Mahtma, he has not failed to inspire millions of people, maybe even billion. Yes, we are talking about Mahtma Gandhi.   After he returned from South Africa in 1915, he joined the congress and started fighting for India’s independence. He, did not use guns or sword. He used non-violence and satyagarh. This was a tool British did not have. He believed that only way to defeat wrong doers was to make them feel ashamed. He played a vital role in freedom struggle.
